    Description

Offered for sale is this HAZEL ATLAS food mixer from the Depression Glass Era.  There is a photo of it in the book "Kitchen Glassware of the Depression Years" (7th edition) by Cathy & Gene Florence.  It is on page 175 under Mechanical Attachments.  This food mixer is in the "Crisscross" pattern, a popular pattern of the 1930's that came in clear, blue, green, and pink.  This food mixer only came in clear.  I searched for a photo of this piece in the Hazel Atlas Glass Book but I could not find one.  This jar stands 8 inches tall with the lid and 7 3/4 inches tall without the lid.  There is a baby face on one side of the jar - the rest of the jar contains the Crisscross pattern.  There is a Hazel Atlas mark on the bottom of the jar with the number 5127.  There is also a number 6 on the bottom of the jar.  The lid on the top fits perfectly although, presumably, there should be a lid with a hole in the center and a wire / metal piece to mix the food.  You will probably be able to find that piece on eBay or at a flea market.  The glass jar is in excellent, clear condition with no chips, no cracks, no damage at all.  The metal lid on the top is rusty-ish but could be painted or replaced with a mixer top.  I don't believe that I have seen any others of this piece - I purchased this one 25 years ago - I still have the original receipt from the antique co-op.  The baby face and the pattern are very clear.  If you collect Crisscross or mixers or old kitchenware or Depression Glass or baby memorabilia, this is a fantastic piece!  As I said, I haven't seen another in the last 25 years!!  Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before buying.  Please see my other items as I am selling a lot of my 30 year collection!
