    Description

    A lovely Georgian objet de vertu, this sterling vinaigrette by Joseph Willmore Birmingham 1824, features a floral raised cushion border with rosette corners. Engine turned engraving appears on the front and back. An open cartouche is ready for a monogram.
    The box opens to reveal a lightly gilded interior and a hinged pierced grill detailed with foliate engraving.
    Measurements: very small and intimate at a hint over 1-1/8” wide.
    Hallmarks: fully hallmarked and includes touchmarks in 2 places - the city of Birmingham anchor, maker’s mark, monarch’s head, sterling lion passant, and the date mark that appears to represent 1824.
